Telegram bot mandatory subscription: how much it pays, setup

October 23, 20262 min readMGRAM team

A mandatory subscription screen is the fastest way to monetize a bot: the user subscribes to a couple of channels and keeps using the bot, and you are paid for each action. Here is how to run it with MGRAM without losing your audience.

In short. With MGRAM, the mandatory subscription works from the first user. For each confirmed channel subscription or group join you get 70% of its price — from 0.77 ₽; for a bot launch — from 0.70 ₽. Advertisers can pay above the base price, and then you earn more too.

How it works

  1. A user writes to your bot.
  2. Instead of the answer, they see channels to subscribe to and bots to launch.
  3. Once done, the bot works as usual.
  4. You are paid for every confirmed action.

Example

300 users a day completing 3 subscriptions each at the base price is up to 693 ₽ a day. The real amount depends on how many people complete tasks and how many tasks are available at that moment.

How not to lose users

  • 3–5 tasks is a good balance.
  • Once every 24 hours is a sensible start.
  • Explain why in the text: what the user gets next.

Good to know

  • An unsubscribe within 24 hours reverses the income for that subscription; launches are never reversed.
  • Subscriptions from farms are not paid; mass fraud pauses the feature for review.
  • Want your own UI? Use the Tasks API.
