How to make free users of your AI Telegram bot pay for themselves
AI bots pay for every request, and only a small share of users pays. Free users can cover their own cost through ads and tasks. Here is how.
In short. A free user of an AI bot pays for themselves in three ways: a task instead of paying for the limit (via the Tasks API, from 0.77 ₽ per subscription), Reply Ads after the bot's answer (84 ₽ per 1,000 at the base price) and occasional broadcasts. Paying users can stay ad-free.
The scheme
| User | Sees | Income |
|---|---|---|
| Paying | Nothing extra | Subscription |
| Free, within limit | Reply Ads after answers | 84 ₽ per 1,000 |
| Free, limit reached | «Complete a task to get more requests» | from 0.77 ₽ per subscription |
Why tasks instead of payment work
- Users who won't pay still bring revenue.
- You decide how many requests a task is worth.
- With the API, only the users you choose see tasks.
Avoid
- A subscription wall on every request.
- Casino and 18+ ads in a family bot — turn them off.
- Fake traffic — it is never paid.
