How to monetize a Telegram Stars or earning bot

October 23, 20263 min readMGRAM team

Bots that reward users with Stars or points for subscriptions and invites are one of the biggest bot categories on Telegram. To survive, such a bot must earn more per user action than it gives away. Here is where the money comes from and what kills these bots fastest.

In short. A Stars or earning bot makes money on user actions: for each confirmed channel subscription via MGRAM the owner gets from 0.77 ₽, for a bot launch — from 0.70 ₽. Show tasks in your own «Tasks» menu through the API, so the tasks in your bot are real paid tasks. From 50 users, ad broadcasts and Reply Ads are added. Keep the user's reward below your income per action, with a margin for unsubscribes.

Tasks in your own menu

  1. A user opens «Tasks»; your bot requests MGRAM tasks via the Tasks API.
  2. The response has ready buttons — subscribe, join, launch — and your income for each.
  3. MGRAM reports completion (on «Check» or by webhook).
  4. You credit the user's reward in your bot — Stars, points, attempts.

The math

Profit per action = income per action − user reward

  • An unsubscribe within 24 hours reverses the income for that subscription — credit rewards with that in mind.
  • Bot launches are never reversed.
  • Referral rewards pay off only if invited friends are real people who complete tasks.

What kills an earning bot

  • Farms and multi-accounts. Actions of farms and fake accounts earn nothing, and a bot with signs of fraud may be paused for review.
  • A wall of tasks. 3–5 tasks at a time is a sensible balance.
  • Unkept promises. If rewards are late, users block the bot — and ad income goes with them.

Withdrawals

Income goes to your MGRAM balance; withdraw to CryptoBot or USDT on TON from 500 ₽, fee 5%.
