How the audience is selected

Targeting ads in Telegram bots: topics, GEO, language, Premium, Stars level and other filters, SMART selection and the price of each filter.

Updated October 23, 20262 min read4 views

When placing an order, you choose who sees the ad. After each change, the bot shows how many recipients are available and recalculates the price.

Broadcasts

Selection mode

  • SMART (recommended) — MGRAM picks bots whose topic matches your post. You don't choose topics manually. See SMART selection.
  • Regular — you choose bot topics yourself.

Topics

In regular mode, choose up to 3 bot topics or tap “Entire audience”. A topic is a bot category, for example “Gaming”, “Finance”, or “Music”.

Audience filters

FilterWho will see the ad
GEOUsers from the chosen countries and language regions
Stars level 2+Users with Telegram Stars level 2 or higher
PremiumOnly Telegram Premium users
Verified IDOnly verified profiles
With avatarsOnly users with a profile photo
With bioOnly users with a filled-in bio
With giftsOnly users with gifts in their profile

Each enabled filter adds 0.01 ₽ to the price per message. Several countries within GEO count as one filter.

Reply Ads

In Reply Ads the audience is set in the order card:

  • Bot topics — show in all or exclude unwanted ones. Free.
  • GEO and language — choose where to show or whom to exclude.
  • Premium, Verified, and first interaction with the bot.

Each paid filter (GEO, language, Premium, Verified, first interaction) adds 2.5 ₽ to the price per 1,000 impressions. Topics and display events don't affect the price. Details — Reply Ads settings.

Subscribers and launches

For subscribers and launches you can choose bot topics, geo, language, gender, Premium, star level, and profile features. Each filter adds 0.10 ₽ to the price per subscription or launch. Details — Audience, price, and speed.

Why fewer are available than expected

  • Every filter narrows the audience — especially Premium, verification, and gifts.
  • One person doesn't get ads too often, so part of the audience may be unavailable at a given hour — see Frequency and repeats.
  • For broadcasts the audience depends on the chosen slots: each bot has its own hours.

How to widen the audience

  • Remove the narrowest filter.
  • Add a topic or choose “Entire audience”.
  • Switch to SMART.
  • Choose another slot or day.

Tip: start with a minimum of filters and narrow the audience only when analytics shows it's needed.
